Best Places To View Sunset in Charleston

Charleston is known around the world for being one of the most beautiful and historic, cities to date. It’s well-known landmarks and iconic architecture are but part of Charleston's beauty and allure. Not to mention, we have some of the best sunsets! We’ve gathered a list of some of our favorite spots to catch a Charleston sunset below:

SpiritLine Cruises: SpiritLine offers the only true waterfront dining experience in the city. As you cruise around the Charleston Harbor, past Fort Sumter, down the Battery, and underneath the Ravenel Bridge, you’ll also enjoy a multi-course meal with live music. The view of a Charleston sunset that comes with this amazing experience is remarkable!

Seabrook Island: Just a quick drive outside of Charleston is Pelican Beach, which is interestingly enough, known as Sunset Beach! This is where the Edisto River meets the ocean. With little to no waves, Sunset Beach manages to offer a very unique and striking view of sunsets in Charleston.

The Battery: While this one may be one of the more well-known areas of Charleston, The Battery is located at the end of the peninsula in downtown Charleston. Its protective trees and subtle breezes from the harbor make it a Charleston favorite. One of the small perks that make the Battery an attractive place to watch the sunset is the occasional dolphins that surface in the area!

Waterfront Park: Waterfront park is also a well-known spot in Charleston due to The Pineapple Fountain and pebble covered walkways. The combination of the oceanfront and the Pineapple Fountain makes for a great background when it’s time for the sun to set.

Brittlebank Park: Located on the Westside of Downtown, Brittlebank Park is made up of trails and piers to explore while watching the vibrant colors of the sky dance on top of the Ashley River. If you are lucky, you might even get to see local shrimpers off the pier and maybe a couple of sailboats.

Voted as the number one city in the nation and in the world, The Holy City offers some of the best views around, and its sunsets are unmatched. Don’t forget to bring Chelsea and Chuck next time you head to one of these spots!
